Our Story
As a Cypriot couple living in the UK for the past 15 years, we had family members, friends and colleagues go through the heartbreak of failed fertility treatments. They all experienced long grieving periods due to their losses, and it proved very difficult to accept that they have exhausted all affordable options.
Private health insurance does not cover any treatment for infertility, while government funded services have a long list of eligibility requirements, offer limited treatment options, and have long waiting times. This makes it highly challenging for patients to access the help they need in this time sensitive and emotional process, which could further diminish their possibility to conceive.
Private clinics are the other option, but they come with a very high price tag. Most patients need substantial financial planning to save enough for a single round of treatment at a private clinic. Usually multiple attempts would be required for a successful outcome, and saving enough for each round is a huge burden. Patients often terminate their treatment, due to high costs associated with private care and future costs including transfer and storage of embryos.
